The Taylorville Memorial Hospital has served its community for more than 100 years. However, the time has come to replace the hospital’s original five-story structure. The new two-story hospital will provide improved, modern facilities for patent care and a better environment for staff and doctors to provide exceptional healthcare.
The construction, completed in two phases, will ensure continuity of all patient services and will have minimal impact on the newer portions of the hospital built in 2011. The existing five-story building will be torn down during the second phase.
The Hospital and design team focused on the end goal of providing an outstanding patient experience as well as efficient for employees. Three of the 25 patient rooms
will be larger, providing additional family space and will be fitted with overhead ceiling-mounted power life equipment to help move patients from their beds to the bathrooms. Larger bathrooms and showers were incorporated to assist patients who might need help to shower, reducing patient falls.
