SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital

The replacement facility for SSM Health creates the hospital of choice for Mt. Vernon and its surrounding community. Patient and family centered care as well as patient and staff safety were key considerations when it came to designing the building.

The facility’s image communicates a vision toward the future while integrating nature to create a restful, peaceful environment. The hospital integrates physicians by accommodating ancillary joint venture opportunities through a medical office building and ambulatory surgery center.

The full-service, 134-bed acute care facility introduces private patient rooms. The four nursing units include beds for cardiac, orthopedics / neurology and rehabilitation, surgical and oncology, medical and pulmonary and an intensive care unit. The 20-room emergency department accommodates 34,000 annual visits. Included in the hospital are a women’s center, pediatric care center, surgery, diagnostic imaging, cardiac cath lab, diagnostics and rehabilitation center. Landscaping and outdoor dining areas also add to a positive patient experience.
