The Science and Engineering Laboratory Building, located on IUPUI’s campus in Indianapolis, provides critical multidisciplinary teaching and research laboratory space.
In support of the life and health science missions of IUPUI, this facility is designed to foster collaboration and provide flexibility to meet the significant planned growth of the research programs. A two-story common connects to the quad acting as a student and faculty hub, while also serving as the primary building entrance and gathering space. Public spaces complement the first-floor biology and forensics instructional labs by encouraging student-to-student and student-to-faculty interaction. The second level, with a mixture of faculty offices and research labs, is organized around a block of biomedical engineering labs. A new science animal resource center and vivarium allow for increased opportunities for their current research programs.
