SBL Regional Cancer Center

The Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center creates a comfortable and healing environment for patients, visitors and staff. The new freestanding cancer center, located on the southwest corner of the hospital campus, provides the central Illinois region a facility capable to provide patients and families a “one day stop” with the latest treatment technology available.

The design reduces the stress and discomfort as well as enhances current function of the center. Semi-private infusion stations, private lounge and sound insulation reduce noise to better accommodate the comfort for the patient and guests.

The cancer center consists of a linear accelerator vault, infusion area, PET/CT room, exam rooms, offices and support spaces. The interiors successfully incorporate the aesthetics of the Sarah Bush Lincoln brand while incorporating some variations that define the cancer center as a separate entity. All spaces focus on the design concepts of privacy, education, family, comfort and image.
