Placemaking and Accessibility Improvements

BSA was hired to assess several ADA issues on Wake Tech’s campuses. The Southern campus is Wake Tech’s oldest campus and is complimented by extreme topography and associated challenges. Project goals and vision included creating a new traffic circle, pedestrian plaza, student seat walls, and creating a new front door to the campus. The project design included updating campus map signage, parking lot upgrades, new ADA pathways, signage, and landscaping as well as the creation of new bus shelters – one reflecting Wake Tech’s logo – and serving as gateways to campus and assisting with wayfinding.
