Ascension’s Ministry Service Center houses a large cross-functional team of associates for Ascension’s nationwide network of healthcare facilities. An array of finance, human resources, and supply chain services operate within this building. An array of finance, human resources, and supply chain services operate within this building, supporting one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States.

The design for this center was driven by a space planning strategy that utilizes a neighborhood concept to group departments and employees by similar functions and initiatives. This approach fosters natural collaboration and communication within and between teams. Bright colors blend with an open, airy interior to create a vibrant and welcoming work environment that promotes innovation and teamwork.

The design team strategically removed all walls around the perimeter windows, preserving only a centralized “core” for shared services. This maximized natural light throughout the space, enhancing the overall wellness and productivity of employees. A central café and flexible seating arrangements bring workers together, providing informal gathering spots and encouraging spontaneous interaction.
