The space features a modern medical treatment area with individual infusion stations equipped with light wood cabinetry and white countertops. A healthcare worker wearing navy blue scrubs stands in the center of the room, while a patient sits in one of the treatment areas on the left side. The design incorporates calming blue accent walls complemented by large windows that allow natural light. A striking decorative installation hangs from a high ceiling area with suspended white elements creating a soothing visual effect. The infusion room includes medical equipment such as IV poles, comfortable treatment chairs, and workstations for staff. Nature-inspired artwork on the walls (featuring what appears to be dandelion imagery) adds to the healing atmosphere. The overall design balances clinical functionality with elements intended to create a comfortable environment for patients receiving treatment.

The spacious lounge features a contemporary design with comfortable seating arrangements including blue armchairs with wooden legs, patterned sofas, and various seating clusters throughout the space. Several people are present - a woman at what appears to be a reception desk, a man looking at reading material, and two women conversing in the background. The interior has a calming aesthetic with white drop ceiling tiles, recessed lighting, colorful abstract art panels on the walls, a wall-mounted screen displaying a golf course scene, and natural wood accents. A reception counter is visible to the right with fresh white lilies in a vase. The flooring transitions from light carpet in the seating area to wood-look flooring near the entrance, creating a welcoming and professional healthcare environment.

The medical office building expansion at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital adds 36,000 square feet in a two-story addition to the north of the existing medical office building. This expansion’s design enhances the overall patient experience while increasing access to critical services in the surrounding community.

The new facility incorporates a forward-thinking clinical pod concept that supports the on-stage/off-stage approach to patient care. This approach is grounded in current healthcare trends and patient-centered data. The expansion includes service lines such as primary care, medical oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, infusion, pharmacy, laboratory services, and a new conference center. A standout feature is the state-of-the-art chemo infusion center, offering advanced treatment in a serene and supportive environment.

A key goal of this medical office building expansion was to prioritize patient safety and deliver a high standard of care in a flexible, collaborative environment. The new exam room layout allows for dual access from both public corridors and care team zones. The result: preserving privacy while improving efficiency. Natural light and thoughtful material selections contribute to a welcoming and healing atmosphere.

In addition, the team added extra parking to support increased patient volume. Despite COVID-related delays and supply chain disruptions, the expansion was completed on budget. This project demonstrates Memorial Health’s commitment to delivering accessible, personalized care in a modernized setting.
