The medical office building expansion at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital adds 36,000 square feet in a two-story addition to the north of the existing medical office building. This expansion’s design enhances the overall patient experience while increasing access to critical services in the surrounding community.
The new facility incorporates a forward-thinking clinical pod concept that supports the on-stage/off-stage approach to patient care. This approach is grounded in current healthcare trends and patient-centered data. The expansion includes service lines such as primary care, medical oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, infusion, pharmacy, laboratory services, and a new conference center. A standout feature is the state-of-the-art chemo infusion center, offering advanced treatment in a serene and supportive environment.
A key goal of this medical office building expansion was to prioritize patient safety and deliver a high standard of care in a flexible, collaborative environment. The new exam room layout allows for dual access from both public corridors and care team zones. The result: preserving privacy while improving efficiency. Natural light and thoughtful material selections contribute to a welcoming and healing atmosphere.
In addition, the team added extra parking to support increased patient volume. Despite COVID-related delays and supply chain disruptions, the expansion was completed on budget. This project demonstrates Memorial Health’s commitment to delivering accessible, personalized care in a modernized setting.
