Nursing, Allied Health, and Emergency Services Programs

Health Professions Center

The Department of Nursing, Allied Health and Emergency Services at Joliet Junior College prepares students to practice in an evolving health care system. Joliet Junior College has created and expanded health-related programs in response to community needs and trends showing workforce shortages in most health care areas.

The new Health Professions Center helps the college expand and add programs in high demand fields – such as nursing, radiologic technology, physical therapy and dental hygiene – by providing much needed space and consolidating programs previously spread throughout campus. Flexible learning environments allow collaboration among the labs, faculty and students. Integrated technology and improved spaces enhance the educational and work environments, aiding in recruitment and retention of top faculty and students. Simulation labs create realistic spaces that advance the education of students and provide hands-on experience in a risk-free environment. The build simulation labs include an Emergency Services apparatus room with space for a fire truck and ambulance.
