The Bonutti Clinic Building project consists of a freestanding, two-story medical office building located on the south side of Interstate 70 in Effingham, Illinois. The positioning of the building near the interstate was important due to the site being sunken, making it hard for the building to be visible from the interstate. The design team worked on creating a site grading plan along with requesting and being granted a variance to the local ordinances to get the building built higher and, therefore, visible.

The first floor of the building consists of a new main lobby, walk-in clinic lab, imaging department, and physical therapy department. Additional building support spaces on the first floor include receiving, common storage, break room, conference room, and rooms for building infrastructure. The second floor consists of an elevator and stair lobby, open waiting space for clinics, an orthopedic clinic, an occupational medicine clinic, physician clinics, and two (2) x-ray rooms. The project was designed to provide separate interior traffic flows by separating the back-of-house areas from the front-of-house guest and patient areas. The goal was to create a welcoming, comforting patient experience for all who entered the building.
