Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital’s design reflects a highly reliable, efficient, and patient-centered ministry. Ascension has a commitment to quality accommodations and caring environments with themes of love, holistic healing, and outreach to others.

BSA worked on the planning and design for a phased expansion to the Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital campus. Specifically, BSA provided architecture, planning, and engineering expertise. This expansion supported the growing needs of Fishers, Indiana, which at the time of construction was one of the fastest growing communities in the country.

It was the desire of Ascension St. Vincent to have a hospital that met the requirements of a LEED-Certified facility. BSA’s top-rated healthcare architects incorporated sustainable building design strategies, optimizing site orientation, exterior materials, and energy-efficient mechanical systems. The Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital became the first hospital in Indiana to be awarded the USGBC’s LEED for healthcare designation.

The landscape and site design reflect sustainability and patient well-being. The site features a healing garden with a water feature, pergola, sound-attenuating site wall, and outdoor seating. Additionally, a 1.34-acre foot underground detention system is accompanied by stormwater quality treatment units. The style of the landscaping is native to the area. Finally, features like fuel-efficient vehicle parking, bicycle racks, and changing facilities encourage eco-friendly commuting options.

As a result of integrating cutting-edge hospital system design, healthcare MEP engineering, and sustainable healthcare construction, St. Vincent Fishers Hospital serves as a model for the future of healthcare architecture and engineering.
