This rendering depicts a modern collaborative lounge space with a vibrant color scheme of orange, red, and blue furniture. In the foreground, two people converse at a round white table with orange chairs, while others can be seen using various seating arrangements throughout the space. The room features a wood-paneled accent wall with a large display screen and additional seating for presentations or meetings. Floor-to-ceiling windows along the left provide natural light, complementing the linear recessed lighting in the drop ceiling. The space combines casual seating areas with more formal meeting setups, creating a versatile environment designed for both social interaction and collaborative work within an educational setting.
This architectural rendering shows a modern multi-level interior space with a prominent staircase as the focal point. The staircase features black metal railings with warm wooden handrails that create a striking visual contrast against the white walls. Gray carpeted flooring covers the main area, while structural columns help define the space. To the left, there's a glimpse into a lounge area with orange and blue furniture and red seating, where a person can be seen sitting. The design incorporates abundant natural light through large windows along the right side, and the overall aesthetic combines contemporary elements with warm wood accents. Small seating nooks with orange chairs can be spotted near the upper landing of the staircase, creating casual gathering spaces throughout the vertical circulation areas.
This rendering depicts a modern computer lab or workstation area with a clean, minimalist design. The space features multiple white workstations equipped with monitors and divided by low partitions. Several people are using the computers, including a person wearing a hijab seated at a workstation and two individuals engaged in conversation at another station. The room has a bright atmosphere with a dropped ceiling containing recessed lighting, large windows providing natural light on the left, and a bold red accent wall in the background. White structural columns punctuate the space, and a few people can be seen walking through the area. The design emphasizes functionality with a contemporary aesthetic suitable for an educational environment.
This architectural rendering shows a modern corridor with distinctive orange ceiling beams and suspended white light fixtures creating a rhythmic pattern down the hallway. The space features clean white walls and a light floor, with a blue-gray door labeled

Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub – Miami University + Butler Tech

Miami University is partnering with Butler Tech Career Technical Center to create a seamless pathway from high school to college through a state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing workforce hub at the Hamilton Campus. This innovative collaboration lives within the renovated VORA Technical Park and supports Butler Tech’s Mechatronics and Machine Labs as well as the Engineering Technology (ENT) program.

BSA designed the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub to serve as a model for workforce development and a driver of regional economic growth. The facility will offer flexible academic and career pathways ranging from associate degrees and industry-recognized credentials to microcredentials and degrees in robotics and electro-mechanical engineering.

In addition, the renovated space will include a variety of learning and support environments:

  • Specialized lab spaces
  • Classrooms and instructional areas
  • Faculty and administrative offices
  • Huddle rooms and collaboration zones
  • Commons and circulation spaces

BSA outfitted labs and instructional areas to reflect modern business and industry standards. As a result, the workforce hub ensures students are prepared to meet the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector.

Finally, key features of this project include:

  • Renovation of former office building to high-tech engineering technology facility
  • Precision Manufacturing & Engineering Labs, including large-format milling
  • Robotics & Engineering Technology Labs
  • Full interior demolition and installation of new or upgraded systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and IT infrastructure

All in all, this next-generation advanced manufacturing workforce hub represents a shared vision for advancing technical education and strengthening the talent pipeline in Southwest Ohio.
