Patients and their companions spend significant time in outpatient waiting areas, crucial for their satisfaction and care quality. Despite efforts to reduce wait times, achieving this goal remains challenging, negatively impacting the waiting experience. Enhancing the physical environment emerges as a promising strategy. Research underscores how tailored environmental features alleviate anxiety across age groups and cultures. This study employs behavioral observations, staff surveys, and interviews to delve into visitor experiences. Staff feedback highlights unmet needs and areas for improvement. Insights gleaned inform future waiting room design, aiming to minimize perceived wait times and cater to ergonomic and emotional requirements, ultimately enhancing patient and visitor experiences.
