St. Xavier Residential and Library Precinct Plan
The precinct plan for St. Xavier University provided a framework for growth of their on-campus student housing. The primary project was a three-story residence hall with 96 student beds and three additional units for resident assistants/directors. Providing apartment style living, the typical 4-person units have two 2-person bedrooms flanking a kitchen/living/dining bay. Two bathrooms are located between the bedrooms and a central corridor. This arrangement allows both living room and bedrooms to have windows and efficiently stacks services within the core. Future buildings will be linked by bridges to allow for roof terraces and formal entries into a new collegiate quadrangle. The design draws from the architectural language of the campus to create a consistent and appropriate collegiate spirit.
