Partnership yields sophisticated clinic
This freestanding outpatient cath lab addresses the long waits for similar procedures at two nearby hospitals. Based on a partnership that shares equipment and construction costs between the hospitals and physicians, the Prairie Diagnostic Center allows the hospitals and cardiology practices to collaborate rather than compete for outpatient cardiac services.
The design works as infill within a historic neighborhood, helping restore urban fabric and communicate stability and permanence through brick and stone construction. Varied openings add interest at the pedestrian level, with an arch marking the reception area to enhance wayfinding.
