Biotechnology Research and Training Center
Concept to completion in 18 months
The schedule - concept to completion in 18 months - was critical to the several million dollars in grant funding that enabled the Biotechnology Research and Training Center to be a reality. The building houses the Biotechnology Training Program, which advances the technical skills of technicians in high demand.
The building has more than 40 core, modular laboratories for researchers and students. “Ghost" corridors - walkways that allow researchers to move among labs without accessing public corridors - link lab sections and foster interaction. A classroom with the latest digital videoconferencing technology allows for meeting and learning with Indiana University campuses statewide. The three-story building also includes a vivarium and one of the area’s few cyclotrons.
