Sinai Ambulatory Care Center
Enhancing the urban healthcare model
The five-level Ambulatory Care Center is the calculated result of a previous BSA LifeStructures site utilization study that focused on feasibility of a full hospital replacement program on vacant Chicago Housing Authority land. With the study now transitioning to a major campus redevelopment project, the Ambulatory Care Center serves as the critical first component in enhancing and sustaining Sinai Health System’s recognized urban model for healthcare.
The outpatient services in the new facility support Sinai’s mission for cost-efficient, high quality healthcare. With the goals of addressing increasing need for outpatient care, retention and recruitment of first-rate medical staff and an improved healing environment, the ACC responds with comprehensive primary and specialty care services in an environment that encourages physician collaboration for the benefit of patients and family.
Using the firm’s LifeStructures Metrics, key metrics were studied that will be the driving force behind design and impact and success of the ACC. Measurements of success will focus on patient visits and satisfaction, the facility’s contribution to helping Sinai achieve financial sustainability and competitiveness, retention and recruitment of staff and cost savings through sustainable design.
