Markey Cancer Center - Radiology Facility
Creating more space for radiation medicine
Preceded by a BSA LifeStructures planning study, this project adds needed radiology services to the Markey Cancer Center for the University of Kentucky. The Markey Cancer Center's lower level addition includes a gamma knife and tomotherapy room, along with associated support spaces. A large skylight introduces natural light to a renewed healing environment in the basement level.
The first floor includes new finishes in the existing two-story lobby with art glass, wood walls and porcelain tile floors to make the space feel warmer and more inviting. A Radiation Medicine Clinic and renovated waiting reception areas for Radiation Medicine and Hematology are also located on the first floor.
