College of Pharmacy Expansion
Designing for an immersive College of Pharmacy curriculum
Butler University’s College of Pharmacy Building provides student-centered, active learning environments and faculty research labs. By designing team-oriented learning spaces that de-emphasize the role of the instructor, students are encouraged to take a more active role in an immersive learning environment.
Students can now practice patient assessment skills in a clinical environment. The clinical lab includes eight individual patient exam stations and open space for classroom instruction and demonstrations. Faculty research labs are spacious and flexible with specialized spaces for mass spectrometry, tissue culture, fluorescent microscopy, an environmental room and a radioisotope lab.
BSA LifeStructures provided the health sciences and laboratory planning for this project with design architect Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf.
