Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital
A central Indiana first for complete ortho care
The Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital adds inpatient surgical services to the successful OrthoIndy outpatient clinic and surgical center, which was renovated during the project to provide expanded clinic space. OrthoIndy, one of the largest orthopaedic physician groups in the country, saw a need for specialized orthopaedic care in a patient-focused, homelike environment. The two-story hospital addition does just that and includes an ortho-focused operating suite with 10 rooms, post-anesthesia care unit rooms, pre/post-operating rooms and 37 private inpatient rooms.
A light-filled central "spine" helps organize functions. From the exterior, the spine's red massing serves as a wayfinding and branding element for OrthoIndy and Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital.
