Emergency Department Replacement
Population growth and competition spur change
Thanks to population growth in this growing county just outside metropolitan Indianapolis, Hendricks Regional Health addressed the increasing need for emergency services and maintained its regional market share with a two-story, free-standing emergency department building that connects with a bridge to its main hospital.
The addition boosts the hospital’s ability to handle patients in its expanded emergency department, which occupies 35,000 square feet on the main floor of the new building. Patient care is expedited with bedside registration and computerized patient-tracking systems. Improvements from the previous emergency department include more staff workspace and a larger waiting area that allows for better family involvement in the care process.
