Defining a gateway to Discovery Park

Purdue University leveraged their leadership in STEM academics and research to create a new Discovery Park precinct that would work to more closely connect academic innovation with the marketplace. As designers of two of the major facilities within this precinct, BSA LifeStructures was tasked to study multiple footprints of the Discovery Park facilities and how this new area could create its own identity while still connecting with the university’s core academic campus nearby. Both facilities designed by the firm were positioned adjacent to the new gateway into Discovery Park, and as such, were explored for how they could be created to serve their program while also serving as clear entry points into the precinct. Adjacent sites were examined in terms of how future development would further define the southeast corner of Discovery Park.
