Education for quality care and patient safety

With patient safety and quality outcomes in mind, WakeMed Health & Hos-pitals’  Center for Innovative Learning is designed to facilitate realistic multi-disciplinary clinical training and education for all levels of health care providers. Simulation and skills programs include medical/surgical, labor and delivery, critical care setting and a computer lab for testing baseline knowledge of clinical practices.

The Center expects over 5,000 healthcare students and professionals to train in the facility each year. The space is designed for expansion, eventually adding virtual reality skills training and other programs that will grow the Center to around 8,000 square-feet. The WakeMed Center for Innovative Learning was recently designated a Center of Educational Excellence by Laerdal Medical.
