Cardiovascular Consolidation, Methodist Hospital
Creating a cardiac care and research center of excellence
The IU Health Cardiovascular Center consolidates scattered services and effectively created an identifiable center of excellence for cardiac care and research excellence.
The center includes the renowned Krannert Institute of Cardiology and the Cardiac Comprehensive Critical Care units, a pioneer project of the acuity-adaptable patient room and evidence-based design. A new half-moon-shaped building connects a 1960s structure and a medical office building in the interior of the medical campus. Inside, a central lobby and interior finishes unify the space. IU Health estimated that the consolidation would save $15 to $19 million over five years.
