Blackford Community Hospital
Outpatient-focused care closer to the community
Blackford Community Hospital provides a more efficient delivery of care in a smaller space than its predecessor, bringing quality care to residents of rural Blackford County. The designated Critical Access Hospital supports the community’s need for greater access to outpatient care, which is almost 80 percent of the services provided.
The one-story structure was designed to be patient friendly and open to the community. A fireplace is the focal point for the inviting lobby, which is located close to a cafeteria and retail pharmacy. Fifteen all-private rooms and an emergency department with private rooms enhance patient comfort. The layout of the hospital improves efficiency for staff by minimizing walking distances.
