7th and 8th Floor Enhancement
Vertical expansion for uninterrupted care
Vertical expansion of the seventh and eight floors provides the Roudebush VA Medical Center 96 new medical and surgical patient beds. Planning and operational studies resulted in a stringent infection control plan and phased construction that allowed the existing ICU and cardiac cath lab on the sixth floor to remain in operation during construction. While the exterior insulated metal panels and curtain wall system reflect the existing design completed by BSA LifeStructures 15 years earlier, the vertical expansion is designed to represent the improved care within.
