John Sauer

John has had an integral leadership role with the firm’s Engineering practice since joining BSA LifeStructures in 1997. His systems engineering expertise is focused in the areas that support his higher education and healthcare clients, including heating, ventilation, vacuum, air conditioning, steam distribution, energy centers and piping design.

He is a strong advocate for sustainability and the use of energy efficient design in traditionally high-consuming research and healthcare environments. His accomplishments in sustainable design includes innovative use of heat wheel systems in academic settings and creating one of the first LEED Gold buildings on the historic University of Notre Dame campus. His thought leadership on energy efficient design has been published in Healthcare Building Ideas, Facility Care Ezine and Engineered Systems Magazine.
