Gary Vance

Gary has a diverse background in healthcare that drives global perspective to his role as Director of National Healthcare for BSA LifeStructures. As a leader in master planning and the application of evidence-based design, his work focuses on combining empirical data, organizational strategy and practical healthcare design to deliver client-focused solutions.

Since joining the firm in 1997, Gary has continually sought out innovative strategies for both healthcare and facility planning. He led the firm in the creation of LifeStructures Metrics – a database for facility metrics and evidence-based design. Moreover, he is a regular contributor to healthcare-focused publications and lectures to national audiences on issues relevant to healthcare facility owners. As a lifelong learner, he has achieved certifications from the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), U.S. Green Building Council (LEED AP) and the Center for Health Design (Evidence-based Design).
